New South Wales Waratahs Super Champions win Super Rugby Final in Sydney

The Australian rugby team New South Wales Waratahs claimed the Super Rugby title in this year 2014 defeating finally the Crusaders of New Zealand in a closely-fought match to the end with a tight result of 33 to 32 in Sydney, before his own crowd, more than 60,000 at ANZ Stadium in a historic moment.

The “Tahs” held a first-half lead of 20-13 but the seven times champions Crusaders came into contention soon and the second half was a really exciting and breathtaking battle betwwen two armies who wanted to reach the victory.

Adam Ashley-Cooper, with two tries, and Bernard Foley with a conversion goal and seven penalties for the NSW Waratahs scoring 33 point that were enough for the winning, and getting a space in the history for their scores. Whereas, for the Crusaders were Matt Todd and Nemani Nadolo tries, a conversion of Dan Carter and another conversion and six penalties signed by Colin Slade who almost draw the score and reach a new title for the New Zealanders.

It was in a 45-metre last-minute penalty goal from five-eighth with which Foley made the dream real and the Waratahs got the long-time awaited victory, achieving the Super Rugby title for the first time for the aussies, in their home, in their stadium, with their supporters, where nobody could beat them this season, in a drama-charged conclusion to a classic title decider and against one of the best teams in history.

Another record for Super Rugby and for Waratahs was the big number of spectators, almost 62,000 fans, who witnessed the Waratahs' final  in that historic date, fulfilling the ANZ Stadium in Sydney in a magical and unforgettable night.
