The 18th edition of the Women’s Libertadores – the third to be held in Quito, Ecuador – will crown a Brazilian champion for the 15th time. Cruzeiro, making its first-ever final appearance, will face Corinthians this Saturday (Oct. 31).

Cruzeiro defeated Olimpia 1–0 at Casa Blanca Stadium on Wednesday (28). Corinthians secured its spot in the final after defeating Santa Fe (Colombia) 2–1 at the same venue.

This will be the third time that the final for South America’s most important club title will feature an all-Brazilian matchup. Corinthians was a participant – and champion – in the previous two editions. In the 2019 edition, also held in the Ecuadorian capital, the team defeated Ferroviária 2–0. Four years later, they claimed the title by defeating rival Palmeiras 1–0 in Cali, Colombia.

The final will take place this Saturday (31), once again at Casa Blanca. Earlier that same day at the same stadium, Santa Fe and Olimpia will face off for third place in the tournament.

The winner of the Women’s Libertadores secures a spot in next year’s Champions Cup, the equivalent of the Intercontinental Cup on the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) women’s calendar. The South American representative will make its debut in the semifinals against Barcelona (Spain), the European champion, on January 27.
