Málaga CF closes La Liga pre-season tour down under with a great draw for Perth Glory

That was all, the 2014 LFP World Club Challenge which Málaga CF started last Friday 25^th of July has just finished during the weekend, with the second and final match in Australia played on Sunday against Perth Glory by Spanish La Liga club. And it was closed in the Nib Stadium of Perth in a friendly match that gave a really good impression of the local team, as Perth Glory could get a great draw, 1-1, against Málaga.

Just two days after playing against Adelaide United and get an awesome result of 1-5, the team from Andalusia had much more troubles to defeat Socceroos from Perth Glory because of an important lack of definition facing goal by the “Boquerones'” strikers, and a very good and focused local team that was more serious than its A-League rival Adelaide United.

The visitors hit the lead in the 32nd minute when Portuguese new signing Ricardo Horta curled his shot into the top corner of the net from outside the box. After that, Málaga continued trying to take more advantage but Perth's goalkeeper Danny Vukovic did an excellent performance, deflecting almost every attack action from Spanish with great saves.

At the second half, Perth Glory got the draw with a goal in the minute 57, when the Republic of Ireland international Andy Keogh scored. Socceroos could have surprised Málaga if they had been a little more luck when Perth almost stole the win in the 80th minute, only for Danny De Silva's shot to be deflected by the goalkeeper Cousillas.

Finally 1-1 and everybody glad. After 26 hours of travel and just a few days in Australia, Málaga CF comes back to Spain to go on with its pre season before starting La Liga in August, and Perth Glory getting an incredible good result playing against a Champions League quarter-finalist two years ago as Málaga was.

The matches, in celebration of the 85th anniversary of La Liga, were involving some of Spain’s top teams challenging top local opposition in Europe, South America, North America and Asia as a framework of a global “Spain Experience” to promote the worldwide values of football and Spanish culture, getting a really good relationship and experience for all teams at both sides of the world.
