Martial arts are highlighted in Australia and Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu are a good option

Martial arts is gaining prominence in the world of sport. And here in Australia is not different.
Among the 10 most practiced in the world ate Muay Thai, with 17 million practitioners, and Jiu-Jitsu, which has 12 million of people training.
Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.
This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.
One of the practitioners here is Cacau Mendes. She started in sport in Brazil, and after moving to Gold Coast she continued with trainings at home.
“I started in the sport when I decided to stop smoking, it was in 2011.
I searched for something that I could like, because until that moment any sport had captivated me.
The Muay Thai helped me to occupy my head after the work, reducing my anxiety and stress.
I have been training in Brazil for 5 years, so I here I found a way to training by myself.
I have a hard work during the week and it helps me to make the most balanced mind and brings me to feel satisfaction, for me and there is a real therapy”, explained her.
She added that many Brazilians does the same, and have continued training here in Australia, and others that have begun here.
“There are a lot of reasons to practice, some people want to weight loss, others to battle and pursue a career, others to forget the outside world And those who joined the struggle to make friends, each with a different reason.”
Other popular is Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art, combat sport, and a self-defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.
The sport is from Japan, but the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu became famous, especially, with MMA.
The chef Victor Nakayama is one of the practitioners of this art. “I have been in Australia for almost 3 years, and I decided to practice some sport, and this was which interested me.
It’s a important for me because it’s a way to turn off some of the things I do and the work”, said. According to him, The Jiu-Jitsu is popular among the Australians, because they like MMA, and this has led many people to sport.
In Queensland has premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament circuit, with competitions every month. Victor participated of Queensland Brazilian Circuit in March, when he got a silver medal.
