Latin Heat still blazing ahead and currenly recruiting

It’s one year since Latin Heat took their first steps in international rugby league, and this unique and dynamic team of Latino players is thriving. But there’s always room for growth, and the team’s founder and director, Robert Burgin has got big plans for the coming months

 Latin Heat are  currently recruiting players of a variety of abilities and ages

Latin Heat has a host of games coming up later this year, and they are recruiting players at the moment of a variety of abilities and ages. Some of the most exciting opportunities involve recruitment for junior players – a Redfern Nines tournament is taking place in Sydney on September 20. The Redfern Nines games are for players aged 17 and 18, while on October 11 the Harmony Cup will be held for players aged 16 and under, also in Sydney.

It’s an exciting advent for the Latin Heat and all Latinos passionate about sport that they are extending their scope to younger generations to establish a strong sporting tradition for the future. 

On October 11 Latin Heat will also be back on home soil with a game for beginners and amateurs in Mitchelton. As always, anyone can have a go – Latinos are an inclusive bunch.

 Redfern Nines (Under 18s): September 20 in inner Sydney region. Players must be born in 1996/1997. Cannot have registered in the Harold Matthews or SG Ball competitions this season.

Beyond that Latin Heat is thrilled to announce plans for an international match, also in Sydney.  The opponents are yet to be announced  – though Portugal is most likely - but you can keep an ear to the ground for developments.  Check out Latin Heat’s info here (https://www.facebook.com/SouthAmericanRugbyLeague?fref=ts) for details about games.  And venga, venga for all keen players.
