Fans get injured in a NRL Half-Time show game

Just a few times we can see something as strange such one sport match where fans are getting injured more than players, because we think just being a supporter is easier and physically safer than being the professional sportsman. But weird times happen. Two fans ended up in the field in an ambulance during the NRL match played between Penrith Panthers and Brisbane Broncos after participating in a half-time entertainment game during the break show.

A Faulconbridge resident, who goes by the name "Shunter" on Twitter according to News Limited info, was competing with another fan at the interval in a popular game called the “Big Ball Bash”. Then everything turned into a gruesome spectacle. The game sees two teams sprint from each goal line to a giant ball and attempt to push it over the opposition stripe. But Shunter was stretchered off with a suspected broken ankle, while the other fan suffered a suspected broken shoulder after the two clashed violently during the run.

Their bodies flew into each other in a horrendous clash as the ball popped up in the air. The injured fans were then taken by ambulance to a hospital from Sportingbet Stadium, the Penrith Panthers' home ground in western Sydney, NewsCorp reports.

Panthers chief executive Warren Wilson said all participants in the halftime entertainment had signed waiver forms to prevent them suing the club in the event of injury. It was supposed to be just a bit of harmless half-time fun during Monday night’s NRL clash between Penrith and Brisbane teams. But for Panthers fan “Shunter”, it ended in the back of an ambulance with a broken ankle and with a great and odd life experience, getting injured on live as any of his beloved rugby players.
