Brazilian offers Jet Ski tours along Brisbane River

Born in Florianópolis, Brazil, Marcelo Garcia arrived in Brisbane in February of 2005 with a four months student visa . Eleven years have passed since that time, and he is now an Australian citizen offering Jet Ski tours around the “River City” on the weekends.

Advertiser by trade, the Brazilian got a sponsorship while working in his area before getting the permanent visa in 2011. Considering himself to be water-addicted, Marcelo found an opportunity as a consequence of his love for aquatic sports: “I always surfed even before coming to Australia, and this idea of having a Jet Ski firstly appeared as a way of being in contact with water when the waves weren`t good for surfing.”

After more than ten years living in Brisbane, Marcelo could finally afford the Jet Ski in April of 2015, starting this business in September of the same year.

Passing through amazing and some unknown spots, the “Jet Ski Safari” offers packages that vary between $60 to $90 dollars per person, depending on the activities offered and on the group size. Besides the Jet Ski ride,  you can also take Wake Boarding lessons and go on a fun ride on the Water Couch. These are offered during the all day. Still, according to him, the “Picanha” BBQ is a great way to recover the energy spent.

“The tour starts on Indooroopilly, and then we go all the way to the city. On this path, we pass through many touristic spots, including the Big Wheel of South Bank, The Fridays, the Climbing Wall of Kangaroo Point and many others less known places. Basically we go through the river almost until its end, in the port of the city.”

For the surfers living in Brisbane, good news. Marcelo is also planning to offer surf lessons in New South Wales beaches soon.
