A surfing event not to be missed: visit Coolum Beach this weekend

If you are looking for an exciting plan over the weekend, head to the Sunshine Coast with your friends. The weather seems to be promising for those who miss the warmer days of Summer and there is a lot of activities for visitors and locals. So make it an opportunity to meet new people, practice your English skills and live the Australian culture at the beach, surrounded by a big surfing event.

Coolum has a fine surf and swimming beach. The township is located halfway between Maroochydore and Noosa, while the surrounding bays and rocky outcrops are favourite fishing haunts.

This year the World Surfaris Coast of Origin is proving to be bigger and better than ever! This year surfers battle it out again on Saturday, 26th till Sunday 27th July at Coolum Beach to determine Queensland’s top Boardriders Club’s across all divisions, with $10,000 in prize money thanks to World Surfaris and Surfing Queensland. In 2014, the series comprises of three events which will be managed and activated by Surfing Queensland and its team members.

Divisions are Open Women Longboard, Open Men Longboard, Open Men Stock SUP, Open Women Stock SUP, Under 18 Boys Longboard, Over 35 Men Longboard, Over 50 Men Longboard, Mens Over 45s SUP, and Mens Over 60s Longboard. Cost is free.
