Isaquias Queiroz added another golden chapter to his brilliant canoeing career. The Brazilian won the C1 500m event at the World Canoe Championships on Saturday (Aug. 29) in Poznan, Poland, with a time of 1:46.08.

This was the Brazilian’s fifth gold medal in the event at the World Championships (2013, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026) and his 15th medal in the history of the tournament (eight golds, one silver, and six bronze medals).

The C1 500m event is not part of the program for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The individual Olympic event is the C1 1000m, in which Isaquias did not make the podium at this year’s World Championships.
