Two men lose their luxury cars valued at more than $1 million

Two luxury cars were pulled over in quick succession in Melbourne

Two friends had their really day of bad luck together, at the same time, losing both the luxury cars hey had by police in Melbourne. Initially, police impounded a $500,000 Ferrari in Melbourne to one of the guys, then his mate, who was he called after the impounding episode, had been nicked by police just hours earlier for driving an unregistered $600,000 McLaren.

The value of both vehilces taken by police reaches more than $1 million, a really big fortune to lose just in one night for these friends. They were pulled over in quick succession on Wednesday last week, police said. “They are placing other road users at risk by being on the road when they shouldn't be," Prahran highway patrol Sergeant Helen Poke said.

Sgt Poke said the first driver, a 38-year-old from Coburg, was pulled over at 2.30PM on Toorak Road in the city's inner-east. Police found the McLaren MP4-12C was unregistered and the driver was fined $738 with the car left on the side of the road. Six hours later, at 8.30PM, his friend driving a 2011 Ferrari 458 was pulled over, also on Toorak Road.

Sgt Poke said the 33-year-old male driver from Toorak will be charged on summons for using an unregistered vehicle and driving while disqualified. The car was impounded and his friend, this time driving a Chrysler 300, promptly came to pick him up to ensure he rode home in luxury.
