The ripped jeans look Ã

Right now in Brisbane, the weather is still great for jeans but they can be a little boring at times, although ripped jeans are very much in fashion right now!

Ripped jeans have been in and out of fashion for decades. Some people absolutely love the ripped and torn look and some people wonder why people spend money on jeans that are shredded.

For the lovers of the ripped jeans look would have noticed that they can be quite expensive to purchase and “um and ah” about spending money on something that looks like they are already damaged. So for those who want the look but not with the price tag, here is how you can DYI some jeans you already have!

Step 1

Get a pair of jeans that you don’t mind “damaging” for fashion. Get some tools for the job such as; scissors, steel wool, sandpaper, chalk, cardboard and anything else that will assist you.

Step 2

Put your jeans on yourself & with chalk or a light marker, mark the parts you wan to cut, rip and distress.

Step 3

Take the jeans off, place cardboard in the jeans so you don’t damage both sides.

Start rubbing the marked areas with the sandpaper, steel wool etc.

Step 4

After you have distressed the jeans enough, start making the holes. Use the scissors or a knife and start scraping the area you want the rips.

Make sure to take it steady and keep going further if you want bigger holes. When the threads start coming out, get some tweezers and

start picking them slightly and fray them to give them the “ripped look”.

If you want your skin to be seen, make the holes bigger and distress a larger area.

Keep doing this to all areas you want ripped.

After this is completed, you will have finished! And then have a “new piece of fashion to your wardrobe"!
