The many flavours of Australia
One of the best things about Australia is the variety of food you find everywhere you go.
One of the best things about Australia is the variety of food you find everywhere you go. In this article, I am not going to talk about vegemite, Tim Tams, lamington, or pavlovas, I am going to list some of the most delicious dishes from different cultures that I hadn’t tried before coming to Oz.
Chicken Tikka Masala: One of my favourite dishes in the world! This dish consists of roasted marinated chicken chunks in spiced curry sauce. The curry is usually creamy and orange- coloured. Restaurants usually offer you to choose how spicy you want it; I usually pick Medium. But if you are not a fan of spicy food, go with Mild, you’ll love it anyway. You can eat it with rice and Cheese and garlic Naan bread.

Beef Massaman Curry: This is an epic Thai coconut curry with fall-apart meat and beautiful layers of flavours that you can’t buy at the shops. It contains peanuts, coconut, aromatic fresh and ground spices, potatoes, and tender beef. Just exquisite.

Vegetable Malaysian Curry: It is a delicious combination of lemongrass along with turmeric and ginger simmered in coconut milk and steamed vegetables. It's so healthy and satisfying!

Honey Chicken: This dish is one of the most popular Chinese recipes in Malaysia. The Chinese frying batter yields a crispy, puffy coating that’s light and not greasy. You must try it with fried rice!

Vietnamese Pork Roll: A crusty baguette, slices of BBQ pork belly, pickled carrot, and coriander with a hint of fish sauce. So simple but so delicious at the same time. I am not the biggest fan of pork but when it comes to a good Vietnamese pork roll, I make an exception.
