The Zoo allows contact with Australian animals

Obligatory stop for anyone that is in Brisbane, living or just visiting, the Lone Pine Sanctuary, located just 12 km from Brisbane, is a zoo with typical Australians animals. Lone Pine is one of the most famous attractions of Brisbane and receives many tourists from around the world.

Rated as one of the ‘Top 10 Zoos in the World’ by AOL, the place, which was founded in 1927, is considered the largest and oldest temple of koalas in the world.

At the Sanctuary, you can see kangaroos, more than 130 koalas, a variety of birds and more exotic animals, such as the Tasmanian devil, bats and platypus.

The Zoo offers the opportunity to have contact with some animals. You can buy a package of a special food and feed the Kangaroos. At their place you can also take pictures and spend a time with this typical Australian animal.

It’s also possible hold and takes a picture with a Koala, a snake besides watching a demonstration show of raptor birds, shepherd dog and shearing sheep.

The entrance costs $ 36 per adults and $ 24, with presentation of student ID. A feed to feed the kangaroos costs $ 2 and the photo with the Koala or Snake AU $ 18. The place also has a cafeteria and a shop with many kinds of gifts.

To go there by bus, you can catch the bus number 430 from Queen Street Station and bus number 445 from Wickham Tce stop 158.
