The streets of Melbourne came alive yesterday in celebration of all things Latin as the Melbourne Latin Summer Festival officially kicked off. The festival itself is awash with dance, colour and spice, however the party truly started the night before as the Queen of the Melbourne Latin Summer Festival competition got under way and latin contestants from all over the city gathered to flaunt their stuff.
Ten contestants were chosen to proceed to the final round of the competition, and the winner will be crowned Queen of the festival at 2pm today in Federation Square. After an exciting launch party cruise, featuring the top ten Queen contestants, aboard the Victoria Star to sail glamorously down the Yarra River last night.
The finalists received a special photo shoot whilst on the cruise, with professional hair and make up by the Belezza by Carmen team, and will acquire much desired new professional photos for their modelling portfolios.
