The Latin music superstar Ricky Martin has announced the tour off the back of his performance of Vida to Australia on The Voice live show this Monday. The concerts will be part of the One World Tour and it will take place in six different cities around the country.

He will kick off the national run of shows at the 1300 Smiles stadium in Townsville on April 25 and then head to Brisbane Entertainment Centre on April 28, Allphones Arena, Sydney on April 30, Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne on May 2, Adelaide Entertainment Centre on May 5 and Perth Arena on May 8.

The list of Australian dates of Ricky Martin's One World Tour

25th April 2015            Townsville                               1300 Smiles Stadium

28th April 2015            Brisbane                                  Brisbane Entertainment Centre

30th April 2015            Sydney                                    Allphones Arena

2nd May 2015              Melbourne                               Rod Laver Arena

5th May 2015               Adelaide                                 Adelaide Entertainment Centre

8th May 2015               Perth                                        Perth Arena

The timing of the tour in late April and early May appears to suggest the sweet-natured singer — nicknamed ‘The Seducer’ by his co-star Will. I. Am — is heading back to Australia for another chair-turning series.

“I am looking forward to playing some new material that I have been working on this year, some of my classics and perhaps a few surprises” Ricky said

Martin, who has a huge popularity in Australia because of his coach work in the Australian musical talent-show The Voice, is bound to sell thousands of tickets for next year's One World tour. The Puerto Rican sold out Australian arenas last year for his first tour here in more than a decade, courtesy of his swoon-worthy coaching duties on The Voice and a career’s worth of hits.

15 years after he was catapulted from Latin music into the pop charts with Livin’ La Vida Loca, Martin continues to work on his own music behind the scenes and is expected to release a new record in February next year before heading out on tour. But this is not just the one project in which the singer is working right now, he is also recording a new album in between his coaching duties for The Voice will.i.am, Kilye Minogue and Joel Madden.

For these concerts, he is expected to be seen along with some of his Voice protégées to give them a chance to perform on his concert stage. As it happened before, Martin invited two of the contestants to join him mid show on last year’s tour.

“I am so excited to bring my new One World Tour back to Australia next year, and see all of my loving & loyal Aussie fans once more,” Martin said. “I am looking forward to playing some new material that I have been working on this year, some of my classics and perhaps a few surprises”

Visa pre-sale tickets are available from noon on Friday, with general tickets on sale from July 23.
