- Registration for face-to-face AI training for small and family businesses will open for Ipswich, following a strong response to the micro-credential program in Cairns.
- The micro-credential courses for small and family businesses, delivered in partnership with the Sunshine Coast University, help build practical skills, resilience and capability in a flexible environment.

Ipswich small and family businesses can register for a new face-to-face AI micro-credential course helping Queenslanders understand how to use the rapidly evolving technology effectively and confidently.
The AI micro-credential course is part of the Crisafulli Government’s plan to deliver a better lifestyle through a stronger economy after a decade of decline under the former Labor Government.
The courses are part of the Crisafulli Government’s Small and Family Business First Action Statement which ends a decade of decline under the former Labor Government where champagne cork popping, red carpet celebrations failed to deliver the tools small and family businesses needed to grow.
The program is delivered in partnership with the University of the Sunshine Coast, with four courses for Queensland small and family business owners, including Leveraging AI, Business Planning, Continuity and Resilience, and Workforce Development.
Registration for the Ipswich courses follows strong demand from the first round of in-person courses which kick off in Cairns later this month.
The program will be offered through both face-to-face sessions in Ipswich and an online participation option, making it easier for small businesses across Queensland to take part.
Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin said Ipswich was home to more than 13,500 small businesses, playing a critical role in the city’s economic growth and employment.
“These courses are designed to give small business owners and employees skills they can apply immediately in their day-to-day operations, helping small businesses to strengthen productivity, improve decision-making and prepare for future growth,” Minister Minnikin said.
"We want to give local businesses the skills they can apply immediately, whether that's making better use of AI, strengthening their workforce, improving resilience, or planning for growth.
“The strong demand for this program shows Queensland small businesses are eager to embrace practical tools like artificial intelligence.”
Additional courses, including further face-to-face options in regional locations, will become available in 2027.
