More than a spiritual meeting: Brazilian Mass in Fortitude Valley

No matter where you are, some things are essential to keep a healthy mind. For some people it would be some sports, for others it could be a hobby and, for some of us, it must be to keep our faith alive. For this reason, the Brazilian community in Brisbane meets once a month for a Catholic Mass in Portuguese language.

“For me, this event is pretty important, because the Brazilian energy and our way of preparing it is unique, and for me it is something special. More than that, living here, we miss many cultural things from Brazil, so the Mass makes me feeling at home and I can also meet people from my country”, said Franciela Queiroz, a Brazilian student who is always participating on the Mass with her boyfriend.

Priest Paul, an Australian Priest who has lived in Sao Paulo - Brazil for 9 years, is the host of the Brazilian Mass, which takes place every 3^rd Sunday of the month at Saint Patrick's Church - 58, Morgan Street, Fortitude Valley. All Portuguese speakers are welcome. At the end of the Mass, the community meets to chat and have some snacks, which is a great opportunity to meet people ans socalize if you have recently arrived to Brisbane.
