June marks the start of the Ski Season in Australia

 Australia may be better knows as a sunburnt country, but June marks the start of the country’s Ski Season. It has been 19 days since the winter began and some of us want to know in which Australian’s city could find snow.

While here in Brisbane the sun shine less on beaches and start to rain more often, it is snow time down south. New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria are full of snow adventure and activities to do during this season like, slide down the slopes, take a walk through the perfect wildness, and revel in the festivities that only a snowy winter brings.

Where could we go to find the once in a lifetime experience?

If you are or want to visit New South Wales make sure to check the following cities where you can travel on. Thredbo, Perisher, Jindabyne, Alpine Way, Charlotte Pass, Mt. Selwyn, and last but not least, in Canberra.

If you are more into going to Victoria or it is nearest from you live, definitely visit: Mt Buller, Mt Stirling, Mt Hotham, Falls Creek, Lake Mountain, Mt Baw Baw and Dinner Plain. Going a little more south in Tasmania we can find ski areas of Ben Lomond and Mt Mawson.

If you have never ski before and you do not feel completely sure that it could be for sure, no worries, all the Australian resorts have “Ski Schools” that provide all ages and skill levels and make it easier to learn the either snowboard or ski. They also have the beginner and advance section in the same resort.

There is so much more to do and see…

If you are with little kids or even for yourself, you can also do Tobogganing, snow tubing and sledding are also very popular.  Without forgetting the usual ones that we all see on movies like, snowball fights and making snowmen.

The snow in Australia is so different that the rest of the countries, because of its amazing selection of bird life that is unique to the region, and all the Aussie wildlife. Wombats, kangaroos, possums and even wild horses are occasionally seen in the field; as they roam the land even in these cooler conditions.

Visitors can spot kangaroos jumping through the snow in Kosciuzko, New South Wales, and wombats bounce around Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.

Even though in Queensland is really rarely to have snow, there’s a Winter Festival happening in the Brisbane CBD where you can rollerblading and spend a good time with your friends.
