GOMA’s last major exhibition, the feathered and four-legged ‘Falling Back to Earth’ was a huge success and welcomed flocks of positive reviews. Now Brisbane’s major, and potentially only, tourist attraction welcomes a new exhibition that is set to attract new success.
From Saturday until the 15th of February 2015 GOMA presents 30 years of Japanese fashion since the 1980’s. The exhibition celebrates Japanese contemporary fashion fusing minimalist cuts and geisha influences as well as its influences on the world of fashion, from the runways of New York to Milan.
The exhibition shows Brisbane the works of Japanese fashion pioneers such as Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, and Yohjo Yamamoto. Australia’s own Japanese designer, Akira Isogawa is also featured in the exhibition.
Ticket prices start from $16 per concession and $20 for an adult.
