Third annual Broadbeach Country Music Festival happens between 17th and 19th June
The fans of Country Music will enjoy one of the biggest festivals in Gold Coast. Third annual Broadbeach Country Music Festival happens between 17th and 19th June and will be set on the pristine beachfront of Queensland’s Broadbeach. The entertainment will be featured across outdoor stages and it’s free.
The festival will see a perfect mix of board shorts and banjos, surf boards and steel guitars as country music’s finest assemble for three days and nights of incredible entertainment.
Exceptionally combining Country with the Coast, the festival will feature an enviable herd of incredible country music talent. The line-up will feature more than 30 artists including Bill Chambers, Simply Bushed, Harmony James, Kirsty Lee Akers, The Viper Creek Band, Deep Creek Road, Christie Lamb and more, all heading to the completely free Broadbeach Country Music Festival. You can se all the shows in http://broadbeachcountry.com/shows/.
About the festival
The Broadbeach Country Music Festival celebrated its inaugural year in June 2013 with 20,000 attending over the three days. In June 2014, the second annual Festival was held and in excess of 35,000 people boot scooted into Broadbeach for the event.
What remains the genius of the Broadbeach Country Music Festival, and what sets it apart from a great range of other festivals is that the entire event is free. There are no charges, no booking fees and no tickets and the festival streets are “no drinking zones”.
TRANSPORT
Broadbeach is centrally located in the Gold Coast and is easy to get to no matter where you are coming from. There are a lot of ways to arrive in the Festival.
The route 777 bus departs from the Gold Coast Airport daily to Broadbeach South Tram Station which is located minutes from the centre of Broadbeach. You can then catch the G:Link Tram to Broadbeach North Station, walk or taxi to the heart of Broadbeach. It takes approximately 30 minutes to arrive from the Gold Coast Airport to Broadbeach.
Surfside Buslines also operated within the northern New South Wales suburbs with major interchanges connecting passengers to Queensland services located in Tweed Heads and Coolangatta.
For information on both NSW and the connecting Queensland services please contact Translink on 13 12 30 or visit www.translink.com.au.
Other option is the G:link Light Rail, which is now operating throughout the Gold Coast, connecting Broadbeach to Surfers Parade, Southport and the Gold Coast University Hospital with 16 station stops.
There are two stations located in Broadbeach including Broadbeach South located out the front of Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Broadbeach North in front of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway. Broadbeach North is within walking distance to the centre of Broadbeach including the Broadbeach Mall, Surf Parade, the Oasis Shopping Centre and Kurrawa Beach.
After a big night out, get home cheaply and safely on the City of Gold Coast’s NightLink – a late-night bus service operating after midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. If you need a lift after midnight, NightLink services will pick you up from selected stops and drop you off where it is safe to do so along their route, making it easy for you to get around. These services are in addition to the 24/7 route 700 bus service between Southport and Tweed Heads.
The N750 runs from Broadbeach South station to Robina. On weekends, the G: and route 700 both operate 24 hours a day, every 30 minutes or better. The G: stops at all stations between GCUH and Broadbeach South station, and route 700 runs between Broadbeach South station and Tweed Heads.
If you are travelling from the Southern end of the Coast, such as Coolangatta, you will need to catch the bus from the dry side of the highway and hop off at the Broadbeach South Tram Station Bus Interchange. If you are travelling from Surfers Paradise or further north you can now catch the G:Link.
Who prefers Taxis, the Gold Coast Cabs is the local company used for taxis, operating 24 hours a day all year round. To book Gold Coast Cabs phone 131 008, visit their website www.gccabs.com.au or download their APP.
