Evo Restaurant – A generous serve of Colombian cuisine in Woollongaba

Evo Colombian is one of a kind. And it does Colombians proud as a mainstay of their culture in Brisbane that provides exquisite food. With its dynamic atmosphere and authentic cuisine it provides warmth from our biting wintery days and a memorable gastronomic experience.

Evo is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive and goes beyond the boundaries of Colombian food – for lunch you can sample anything from Vietnamese food (San Choi Bow) to Spanish (paella) and they serve a vast array of drinks – sangria, Colombian beers, and excellent coffee.

But, if Colombian grub is what you’re after then this is the place to get it. The talking point of this establishment is its Latin Sunday lunch menu, and its Friday evening tapas. There are tantalising specialities on offer - Enjucados – cassava with artisan cheese and guacamole or Tajadas con Queso (fried lady fingers with artisan cheese), empanadas and for mains you can have Tamale – polenta and vegetable, rice, marinated pork, chicken and hagao wrapped in banana leaf or BBQ beef, potato and yucca on rice or in hagao.The Colombian breakfast feature plates piled high with chorizo, frijoles and arepa.

The man behind Evo Colombian is Sam Perez, and he has brought Colombian food to prominence in Brisbane from humble beginnings when his family held Colombian BBQs in their home. This evolved into La Fonda Restaurant at Sheldon, and in February of this year Evo Colombian burst onto the inner city scene. It is situated in the fashionable niche of “The Gabba” central, but this exclusive location belies its good value.
