Held every Tuesday night the venue offers free Latin dance classes hosted by dance instructor Johnathan Bhagwan. The night begins at 7:45PM with Bachata and Salsa lessons which conclude at 8:30PM allowing guests to show off their new groove with social dancing until 11:30PM.
Finger food is provided throughout the night and dancers have the opportunity to purchase some liquid courage from the fully stocked bar. The restaurant also offers Australian and international cuisine which dancers are welcome to order prior to the class.
The classes have been run by the talented Johathon Bhagwan for five years. It’s a “beginners playground” Mr Bhagwan exclaims, the classes introduce people to the thrill and culture that is Latin dancing.
Mr Bhagwan describes the scene as a cultural melting pot with a mixture of Europeans, South Americans and Australia’s coming to let their hair down. Volunteer instructors Sal and Vince accompany Mr Bhagwan with Sal teaching Bachta and Vince teaching Salsa.
The night is always fresh and exciting with contemporary Latin music playing throughout the night. Mr Bhagwan describes the music as essential as “the main thing is to keep the people happy and to keep the soul going”.
