Crisis develops in Venezuela

Nowadays, our generation are seeking on living in another country, either to look for a better lifestyle or just because of the experience. But why does this happen?

Latin people has been suffering from lack of good government, insecurity and not enough work, so those things become our mainly reason to leave our country. One of those situation has been living Venezuela and of course others countries in America.

Venezuela has had adopted a socialism since 1998 when Hugo Chavez became president. However, upon his death on 5 March 2013, Nicolas Maduro assumed the powers and responsibilities of the president, and everything started to get worse.

One of the Venezuela’s principle problems currently is that they are running out of everything on the supermarkets. People have to make daily huge lines to buy the basics things that we need to live for, like: Toilet paper, eggs, milk, sugar and flour. Inclusive the President has informed that you cannot buy everyday, you only can go to the supermarket according to your ID number.

Furthermore, Venezuela has the highest global inflation with 68%, for this reason, big companies like Ford or Pepsi are quickly losing profits, and even one of the most important airlines like Lufthansa and LATAM suspended the service due to an economic crisis.

Even though the Country has the largest proven oil reserve in the world, they are descending towards an extreme recession, however they haven’t reduced the prices of gas even if they’ve lost more than the half or their value. In addition they now have power outages, because of Guru’s low water levels; due of maintenance.

On the other hand, Venezuela’s congress and citizens are pushing the president Nicolas Maduro to quit the presidency of the Country, with protests march asking his removal.

Here is what the Venezuela’s crisis has affected everyday routine:

• Personal hygiene items are in short supply.
• Shortage of food commodities like: milk, bread, butter and eggs.
• Health crisis for the medicines and equipment absence.
• Not enough money.

Venezuela is an amazing Country that has a lot to offer to their citizens and tourist around the world. Hopefully one day it would return or even become a better country to live in.
