- The Crisafulli Government’s Science and Innovation Connector Service has supported more than 100 Queenslanders since launching in August.
- The service is connecting researchers, startups and businesses with the expertise, networks and support needed to turn ideas into jobs, investment and commercial outcomes.
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering better services through a stronger economy after a decade of decline under Labor.
The Crisafulli Government’s new Science and Innovation Connector Service has passed a major milestone, helping more than 100 Queenslanders turn ideas into opportunities.
Since August, researchers, founders and businesses have used the service to navigate Queensland’s science and innovation ecosystem, unlock opportunities and progress projects.
Demand has been strongest from startups and regional Queensland, highlighting the need for a simpler pathway to support, partnerships and investment.
The Connector Service is a key initiative under the Crisafulli Government’s 15-year Science and Innovation Strategy, helping drive innovation, commercialisation, and job creation across Queensland after a decade of decline under Labor.
Minister for Science and Innovation Andrew Powell said the early success of the Connector Service highlighted strong demand for practical science and innovation support.
“We're making it easier for Queenslanders to get the right support and turn ideas into outcomes," Minister Powell said.
"No matter whether you're in Cairns, Currumbin, Brisbane or Birdsville, innovation shouldn't be limited by geography or a lack of connections.
“More ideas becoming products and businesses means more jobs and opportunities for Queenslanders.”
Queensland Chief Scientist Professor Kerrie Wilson said opening up opportunities across science, research, industry and innovation was critical to translating Queensland ideas into practical outcomes.
“There is real strength in partnerships, and the Connector Service is creating more opportunities for government, researchers and businesses to come together and progress promising projects from ideas to impact,” Professor Wilson said.
