Colombian Street Festival will be held next month

Festival arrived in third year with a colourful and energetic street party

One of the most traditional events of Latin Brisbane will be held in the next month. The third edition of Colombian Street Festival will be in 16^th of July  in Fortitude Valley. The Festival has grown to become one of Brisbane’s signature events, celebrating all things from Colombia.

The event celebrates Colombian Independence day with a colourful and energetic street party, that promises gathers several hundred people and bring you the tastes and rhythms of the country.  

Brisbane’s all Colombian Street Festival will kick off from GPO at 11.30am, and will continue on until 5am with the official after-party taking place at GPO from 10pm (ages 18 and over only). The event program includes typical food, music, dance and Kids Zone.

GPO, Ann and Ballow Streets will feature a festive selection of traditional Colombian food from a range of different eateries, including Colombian BBQ, Phatboys Food Truck, Little Lady Peruvian Cuisine, EL PARCHE and last but not least, Arepa House. The public will be plenty of exotic Colombian beverages to quench thirsts, including Aquila beer, Aguardiente, hot chocolate with cheese and a range of Colombian soft drinks.

The LIVE music will be pumping all afternoon and into the evening, with a line-up of local Colombian bands, DJs, and artists performing on the main stage. There will be performances from local Colombian bands including Los Parranderos "Vallento", a LIVE Mariachi Performance "Rancheras" and Chukale Y Sus Estrellas Colombians "Salsa & Bachata". In the evening, Colombian music makers, DJ Ikanos, DJ Gomez and DJ Andres H will keep the crowds dancing.

In addition, just like a true Colombian party, beautifully dressed Colombian dancers will be moving and dazzling their way through the festival to the beats of well recognised Salsa music, Merengue, Vallenata and the latest Reggaeton tunes.

This year th event will also offer a Kids Zone, jam-packed with activities to keep the young ones entertained, including face painting, a soft play area, balloons, colouring in, and plenty of music to dance to. Children under 18 attending the festival will need to be accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility.

The Brisbane's Colombian Street Festival will be a chance for the Colombians remember home and for another foreigners and locals know the Colombian culture. General admission tickets start at just $15. Children under the age of 12 receive FREE entry.
