Colombian Festival brought together Latino community in Brisbane

The third Edition of the Colombian Street Festival happened last Saturday. Despite the rain, the Latin Community gathered to celebrate Colombian Independence day with a colourful and energetic street party.

The Festival is kicked off from GPO at 11.30am, and continued on until 5am with the official after-party at GPO from 10pm. The event presented a festive selection of traditional Colombian food, live music, dance and Kids Zone.

The Colombian student Isabella Vasquez was one of the people who enjoyed the party. She went with friends and appreciated the event. “I think that was so good especially for the music and the presentations, which were very funny”, said her.

About the rain, she said that it didn’t disrupt the party. “This wasn’t a problem for me. Maybe for some people, especially who wanted to dance it bothered but in the end everybody enjoyed”.

The organisation published a statement to thank the public who attended the event. “A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the Colombian Street Festival 2016 a massive success. Despite the rain, you still came out and celebrated well into the night.”

The Brisbane's Colombian Street Festival was not only a chance for the Colombians remember home, but also for other foreigners and locals know the Colombian culture.
