Good news for all the international students in Melbourne. The Government in Victoria has announced international student access to concessions for public transport in 2015 with 50 per cent discount. Before this decision, the concession was only applicable to local students.

Another good news for whoever is visiting or living in Melbourne is that from 1st of January 2015, tram services travelling within the CBD and Dockland areas will be free, and zone 1 fares will apply for passengers travelling between zone 1 and 2 on the metropolitan Network.

The changes will come into effect from the 1 January 2015 and will make public transport more accessible for commuters and also tourists. This initiative will cost $100 million per annum for the Government in Victoria.
