One of the most famous party scene of Brisbane is closing its doors this weekend. Saturday will be the last day for Casablanca Bar and Restaurant. This Iconic Brisbane Nightspot is working for 23 years and had hosted many Latin Parties.

Famous for being a bar with a Latin touch, Casablanca is part of the Caxton St nightlife strip, just outside the Brisbane CBD. The place used to have a Latin Dance Night on Tuesdays, a Bachaton Night on Fridays, a Karaoke and a restaurant that catered to all tastes, and includes gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, kosher and halal food.

The owners published an official statement on its Facebook. They claim it has nothing to do with the Palaszczuk Government’s new lockout laws.  The new rule, which comes into effect on Friday Night, closing tome will be 3 am, not 5 am, how it used be before.

According the news, the owners will retain possession of the prominent corner block, but it will be renewed to make way for two new venues. The new enterprise promise to be a complete change from what they have been doing.

They expect the costumers to the last moment on Saturday night. “If you can't make it on the Saturday night. Please do come in and say goodbye to us sometime during the week”.

The Latin community regrets the end of the story of one of the main meeting points in Brisbane.
