BRAZIL'S NATIONAL TEAM IS HEADING TO TOWNSVILLE!

TOWNSVILLE, QUEENSLAND — The countdown is on as Brazil's national football team prepares to travel from Brisbane to Townsville on Thursday, 24 September, ahead of its highly anticipated international friendly against the Socceroos.

The five-time world champions, led by head coach Carlo Ancelotti, will face Australia at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Friday, 25 September, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 PM local time.

Brazil's visit forms part of the Queensland Football Series, which will bring the two national teams together for matches in Townsville and Brisbane.

Brazil's arrival and welcome to Townsville

According to the event organisers, Brazil's delegation is scheduled to arrive in Townsville on Thursday, 24 September, following its preparations in Brisbane.

Townsville will also host a special fan engagement event on Thursday, offering local supporters an opportunity to welcome the visiting teams.

The Queensland Government has announced that the event will include opportunities to meet Socceroos players from 2:00 PM and Brazilian players from 4:00 PM, followed by a junior football clinic for local Brothers FC Townsville.

Ancelotti and Popovic prepare for the opening match

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti and Australia head coach Tony Popovic are scheduled to attend a welcome media conference in Townsville on Thursday, 24 September.

The event will provide an opportunity for accredited journalists to hear from the two coaches ahead of Friday's international friendly.

The press conference will not be open to the general public.

Townsville prepares for a major football celebration

The excitement will continue on Friday, 25 September, with a free Australia vs Brazil Street Party along Flinders Street, beginning at 3:00 PM.

The event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, street bars and a carnival parade, providing an opportunity for Brazilian and Australian supporters to celebrate before heading to the stadium.

Live entertainment will include Australian electronic music group Sneaky Sound System.
