Brazilian Funk Star Bárbara Labres Heads to Australia for First Tour, Bringing Her Signature Beats to Sydney and Brisbane
Collaborations with leading Brazilian musicians and energetic funk performances, the DJ and music producer is preparing to bring her sound to Australian audiences this October.
Brazilian DJ and music producer Bárbara Labres is preparing for her first Australian tour, with performances scheduled in Sydney and Brisbane on 23 and 24 October 2026.
Recognised for her energetic performances and Brazilian funk-driven sets, Labres has established herself in Brazil's entertainment industry through music releases, festival appearances and collaborations with prominent artists.
Her Australian debut will introduce local audiences to a performer whose career extends beyond the DJ booth, combining music production, collaborations and a strong presence in Brazilian popular culture.
From Brazilian television to the national music scene
Labres gained national visibility in 2018 when she appeared as a DJ on TV Globo's Central da Copa, a programmer covering the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The exposure helped introduce her to a wider audience, but Labres has repeatedly emphasized that her career is built on musical ability and production, rather than appearance.
In an interview with ISTOÉ Gente, she discussed the challenges of being recognised for her image instead of her professional work.
Brazilian funk remains at the center of her performances, although her musical interests also extend to trap, hip-hop and electronic sounds. In an interview with Terra, Labres explained that she adapts her sets to the audience rather than following a fixed playlist.
Her friendship with Neymar Jr and passionate about football.

Beyond music, Labres is also passionate about football. Unlike many fans who simply enjoy watching matches, she loves getting onto the pitch and playing the game herself. Her enthusiasm for football is another connection she shares with Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr., with whom she has maintained a longstanding friendship.
The DJ has spoken publicly about playing football with Neymar, highlighting a friendship that extends well beyond music, celebrity events and the entertainment industry.
The two have known each other for years, and their friendship became a subject of media attention when Neymar publicly supported her music.
During an interview with Terra, Labres recalled how Neymar's spontaneous promotion of one of her songs helped bring additional attention to her work.
She also spoke about playing football with him and their friendship outside the entertainment industry.
In a separate interview with ISTOÉ Gente, Labres clarified that their relationship was strictly a friendship, dismissing speculation about a romance.
Collaborations with major Brazilian artists
Throughout her career, Labres has collaborated with musicians representing different styles of Brazilian popular music.
One notable release was É Por Isso Que Sofre, recorded alongside DJ Batata and Brazilian funk pioneer Tati Quebra Barraco. Released in 2021, the track brought together three artists with different contributions to the funk genre.
Her recorded collaborations also include MC WM, MC Paiva, MC Jhowzinho, MC Jacaré, MC Rodrigo do CN and other Brazilian performers.
She has additionally appeared on major event lineups alongside artists such as Anitta, Ludmilla, Ivete Sangalo and Alok. These were shared event lineups, not necessarily joint performances.
