The Latins and Australians are different in many ways, but they share one passionate: Barbecue. The meal gathers people from everywhere in park and social areas. And this weekend the lovers can join in one of the biggest events about the theme. Brisbane BBQ Festival will happen this Saturday, 2nd July, from 11am, at Brisbane Showgrounds.

Combining the very best of Brisbane’s produce with some of Australia’s most noticeable producers and purveyors. The Showgrounds will be transformed into a vibrant party with beats, bars and mouth-watering barbecue.

The public will prove tastes from the respected tradition of barbecue from around the world. Guests will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with over 40 of Australia’s foremost BBQ teams as they compete for the rights to the coveted 2016 Brisbane BBQ Championships.

The Meat and BBQ Expo will provide opportunities to learn trade secrets from some of the nation’s best pit masters, butchers and producers.

Besides the food, the event will have music. The live music line-up includes Brisbane kraut-rockers The John Steel Singers, rockabilly troupe The Hi Boys, Deep South Blues musician Big Blind Ray, plus a bunch more acts to keep you moving throughout the day.

The General Admission is $20, with booking free. Kids under 12 get free entry with every adult ticket. The tickets are sold in www.brisbanebbqfestival.com
