Australia has many options for mobile phone plans

When arrive in Australia, most Latinos look for a way to communicate daily with the family. Here, there are several options, but it is essential to have a good mobile plan that includes telephonic call and mobile internet. When buying a mobile phone plan, there should be many considerations like how much data you might need, what network coverage is available and if you pretend to enter into a contract or go prepaid.

There are many mobile phones companies in Australia, but essentially the country has four major providers: Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin. The first one is the country`s leading provider of mobile phones, mobile devices, home phones and broadband internet. Optus, which is the second in area covered behind Telstra and that has about 30 personal plans.

The third one is Vodafone, the smallest of the 3 major providers and covers mostly metropolitan and larger regional areas. The last one, Virgin Mobile, uses the Optus network and has about 27 plans.

These providers offer a range of options such as package deals that can include data, handset, pre-agreed monthly usage, or contract options, in which you pay a monthly fee for a fixed period, or even prepaid plans, where credit is purchased in advance of service use.

You can find plans in Telstra for $20, for example, in which they charge you for $0.15 per minutes in calls and $0.12 in text in Australia, as well as $0.10 per MB data.

Optus offers a plan for $30 with unlimited standard calls and SMS in Australia and 3 GB of data. Vodafone has also a plan for $30 that includes 150 minutes standard calls in the country and charges in $0.20 per MB.

When looking for a mobile provider, it is important to do a research and weigh prepaid or contract, as most phone providers do not offer contracts or plans without proof of employment or residential permanence.
