The major event in Australia

Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26th January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the Governor Arthur Phillip.

In contemporary Australia, celebrations reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation.

 The meaning and significance of Australia Day has evolved over time. Unofficially, or historically, the date has also been variously named "Anniversary Day", "Invasion Day", "Foundation Day", and "ANA Day".

Sydney celebrates the Australian day with a traditional boat parade  near Sydney Harbour Bridge. The mainly celebrations and also the most traditional are:  Order of Australia and Australian of the year. 

The aim of both celebrations is to honor a citizen who has achieved some honor for the country.  

Otherwise every Australia's cities celebrate that date with artists performing and many other attraction for the population. Australian day also is considered a relaxing day for being with family and friends. 

With community festivals, concerts and citizenship ceremonies, the day is celebrated in large and small communities and cities around the nation. Australia Day has become the biggest annual civic event in Australia
