Caitlin Stasey creates Herself.com to empower women and explore the female body as a source of strength and power.
You may remember Caitlin Stasey from her roles in Neighbors and Tomorrow, When The War Began, (and I can’t believe I’m admitting to watching this; The Sleepover Club) but along with her actress career title she now possesses the title of Woman Empowerer (not a real word but created for sake of correctly describing stasey).
Stasey is the creator of a new website titled Herself.com. The aim of the site is to empower women, promote feminism, and get rid of the stigma that only slim model-like women should be photographed naked. Stasey starts of the website with nude photos of herself, tastefully done, and that do not shy away from exposing her body.
The images are not Photoshopped and demonstrated a closeness to the female body and all its (yes I’m going to quote John Legend here) perfect imperfections. Stasey for starters is just like most women, or at least similar to me, in possession of a small tummy pudge.
To many such a thing would seem insignificant, but in a society where women are constantly pressured to look a certain way (washboard flat stomach, Kate Upton-like thick hair, and cellulite-free butt and thighs) seeing nude photos of all types of women that do not shy away from their bodies is simply uplifting.
Stasey in her photos is gorgeous, as are all the other women who bare all for feminism. The site provides in-depth interviews with the photographed women, from stage performers to porn stars, that address their sexuality, religion, career, relationships, their views on abortion as well as body image.
Visit Herself.com and support the work that Caitlin Stasey is doing.
