The popularity of Latin music and its infiltration into the realms of classical and jazz musical styles has revolutionized popular music.
No other vernacular music has penetrated more the American jazz repertoire than Brazilian music.
Rio de Janeiro’s music scene of the mid-twentieth century, when Tom Jobim, Vinicius de moraes and Joao Gilberto forged an exciting new style of music that became known as Bossa Nova have long become jazz standards.
You will witness an authentic performance of this incredible music and earlier Brazilian styles such as Samba and Choro.
The band features renowned Brazilian Singer and Guitarist Eddie Gazani, guitarist and Jazz lecturer Mike Bevan (Adelaide), Tokyo based jazz flautist Andy Bevan, , Queensland own superb bass player Helen Russell and the extraordinary percussionist and drummer Jason Bell.
They will present a repertoire of highly crafted arrangements of rare tunes from the bossa-samba-choro cannon and some exciting original compositions.
The show will be supported by LCC (aka Luiz Carlos Cunha) Brazilian jazz master from Rio de Janeiro. A Pianist, Accordionist, Percussionist, Composer and Producer. LCC performed with various popular singers and Brazilian composers in the beginning of his career and is currently performing in Australia.
